Embedded spreadsheets

We use embedded spreadsheets within the appendices to our legal agreements.  When issuing the document in docusign, the embedded spreadsheet cannot be opened and viewed by the recipient. Is there a way in which you can allow the recipient to open but not change embedded spreadsheets?

When uploading a file to DocuSign eSignature it gets converted to PDF and embedded items are removed. This applies to embedded spreadsheets, macros, etc.

You need to upload the embedded items separately to DocuSign as additional documents to the envelope. You may want to set them as Supplemental Documents and enforce a certain recipient interaction with them. Files can never be changed by recipients.
