I help manage an administrative-level DocuSign account and we are looking into adopting a new procedure that would use the comments feature within DocuSign. I have enabled comments in envelopes for the account level and in an individual envelopes; however, in testing adding comments to the envelope, the "add comment icon" is never visible. Any ideas, on how I can make this feature work?

I understand that you have enabled comments at both the account level and for individual envelopes, but you’re not seeing the “add comment” icon. I sincerely apologize for this inconvenience, and I am here to help troubleshoot and resolve the issue together.

To clarify, have you enabled the "Enable comments in envelopes sent from this account" and “Allow senders to override” option from Admin > Comments?

The “Allow senders to override" setting allows senders to enable or disable comments for an envelope through the Advanced Options. If you have selected this, please check your envelope’s Advanced Options and ensure that “Allow comments is selected.

 

You should see the option to Add Comment in the upper middle part of your screen from the Adding Fields section.

Please note: If you would like comments to be allowed by default on all envelopes sent from the account, disable “Allow senders to override.”
