You can set up the envelope as needed (meaning, you can upload the documents, set up the recipients, and add the needed tags) and send it to which the recipient can sign at any given time before the envelope expires, which is depending on what was set up under Advanced Option in the recipient section of the preparation.
However, if you need to be present during the signing process, I would recommend using our In-Person Signing feature and add yourself as the Host, that way the document gets sent to your email and can be signed in your presence: https://support.docusign.com/s/document-item?bundleId=gav1643676262430&topicId=hak1578456316043.html&_LANG=enus
