Question

Rich Text formatting

Forum|alt.badge.img+2

Hi all,

When generating the document in docusign, I have encountered an issue regarding the spacing on the sentence entered by the user in Salesforce. Tested both Long Text Area and Rich Text Area as data type in Salesforce to accept free form verbiage.

Using Long Text Area:

The carriage return was leave out. See image below.

Using Rich Text Area:

There is big gap between sentences. See image below.

Note:

The Rich Text is enabled in docusign intake form.

Any help/suggestion is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris

Hi @Christian.Antonio !

I have tried to reproduce your scenario, but I couldn’t. At least for me, it’s working as expected.

What I could suggest you is to go back to your Merge Template and check if there are no line breaks or unintentional "enters" between the lines in your document. Any space, like in this example below, can cause this undesirable spacing problem.

Thank you for your response.

After further investigation, when a ‘carriage return’ was added in Salesforce via Rich Text area an HTML tag was added <p><br></p> after saving.

In Docusign, when I type the same text via Rich Text and added a carriage return, only <p></p> was added.

As a workaround, I created a flow to removed the <br> tag before sending the Salesforce field value in Docusign.
