Hi all

I am looking to implement an “Email Document” step as per https://support.docusign.com/s/document-item?language=en_US&bundleId=yks1643320936212&topicId=hpj1576610096401.html&_LANG=enus

I am struggling to find much information on what happens when a bounceback or outbound delivery failure occurs (e.g. SMTP Error 550).  We managed to get some bounceback emails coming back into the system, but want to ensure we cover all failure scenarios appropriately.  Any advice on details for this appreciated!

Thanks!

Hello @gap

Welcome to DocuSign Community!

I like the approach that you want to cover all the scenarios and make it more scalable solution.
As far as I used the Email document, all it is needed to have correct email address. Reason of email BounceBack is listed below:

1. Recipient email address is incorrect

2.Recipient’s email account no longer exists

3.Problems with the recipient’s mail server

Thanks!

Thanks Pawan!  Problems with the recipient’s mail server is the main concern, and just wanted to ensure these would be included in the bounceback approach DocuSign use - unfortunately its also the most difficult to test!  Thanks for the information!
