DS CLM - Document Preview comments and Assignments in Salesforce
I was wondering if anyone else figured out how to make the assignments “Resolve Comments” to show up in TASKS in Salesforce.
We created an @task assignment by adding comments on the landing page in Document Preview and assigned it as a task. This generates emails and shows in Tasks in DS CLM but does not show in Salesforce.
Should I be doing something differently? Most of my users are SF users, so this would be great if it showed there too.

Also, does anyone else have issues with the comments floating around the page in Document Preview? It seems to jump around or float around if there are too many and it’s hard to tell where they comment belongs on the page?
Hello @newtoclm
Welcome to the DocuSign community!
Are you using any workflow step to create the task in SF? If not, then you can try using “Add Salesforce Task” step in workflow.
Thanks!
Hi @newtoclm,
I did some testing for you and I feel the best way to resolve CLM Comments from Salesforce is by using the document preview. You can access the document preview by going to the CLM Documents/Files widget from the Salesforce record. As long as the document is stored in the correct Salesforce record related folder, you will be able to access it from the Salesforce record.
Once the document preview is opened, all of the document comments are visible and can be reviewed and resolved.
The actual task that is created when a comment is made and assigned out does not look to be visible in Salesforce at this moment. I cannot think of a way to make it visible, even via workflow, because there is no trigger for the workflow to use at this moment to initiate or pull this data for Salesforce purposes. Even creating a Salesforce task via the workflow, there is no way to trigger this step whenever a Comment Task is created. Ideally, this would be added as an enhancement to the CLM/Salesforce connection in the future as a more streamlined approach to completing Comment Tasks.
As for your second question, around floating comments, this is similar to other commenting features you may see in other software, such as Microsoft word. The comment tends to move with the page depending on screen resolution and the amount of comments added.
The best way to work through many comments on one document is to use the ‘Comments’ icon via the document preview. Here is a screenshot of that icon:
I hope this helps! Kelly
@Kelly.Gatling That is what we found too. I opened an enhancement (I think) request because it would help tremendously to see these in SF. Thanks for the response. I’ll have to look at the comments view you outlined above and hopefully that will help with the jumping around. I figure it has to be a matter of varying screen resolutions that causes the issue and sometimes it is really bad.
