Question

Can I save task groups in a variable?

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

Hi guys

I have started working with CLM implementation and I have built a workflow that can generate several contracts that follow a standard flow. This workflow have task that can be assigned to different task groups depend on who started it and details from the form.

Because of it I have to find a way to reference different task groups in the same steps. Can I put them in a variable?? If the answer is yes, how do I do it? Please forgive my poor english.

Thanks!

Hello @Matheus Cardoso

Welcome to the DocuSign Community!

you can definitely store a task group in a variable and reference it dynamically based on conditions like who started the process or details from the form. you can define custom variables to hold values that can change dynamically throughout the workflow. These can be created through the Form Fields or Process Variables.

Once you have your variable, you can assign it a task group based on the conditions you need. You can do this using Dynamic Assignment Rules in the workflow.

And your English is totally fine — you're doing great! 😊

Thanks!

Hello @Pawan Gangwani

Thank you for the answer. I don’t know what are Dynamic Assignment Rules, is it from CLM? Can you give a light on where I can find it in the workflow? And what can it do exactly?

I also searched for it on the web but did not find anything.

Thanks!

referring to the Dynamic Assignment Rules: that lets you assign tasks or approvals to users or Taks groups dynamically — based on logic, form input, or process variables — instead of hardcoding them.

You can use logic from the intake form by setting up a field that identifies the Task Group. Then, reference that value in a workflow variable to use later in the process.

Additionally, you can use a Decision step in your workflow. In this step, set conditions based on who started the process and other relevant form details. Based on the outcome of that decision, route to an “Update Variable” step where you update the Task_Group variable with the appropriate task group name that should be assigned.

Thanks!

Nope “Dynamic Assignment Rule” it is just a term to refer the process or to understand the dynamic route.

Thanks!
