Adding new Params to existing Docusign CLM workflow.

I recently started using the DocuSign CLM tool and created a document generation form, linking it to a workflow through Configurations. While setting up the workflow, I successfully connected the configuration, and the fields created in the form were populated as XML variables. However, when I added new fields to the form, they were not automatically reflected in the workflow. Is there a way to ensure that new fields added to the form are automatically updated in the workflow?

Hello @animish36

Welcome to the DocuSign Community!

One thing you can do, open the executing workflow in “Activity” copy the params and paste in the Params of the workflow configuration via “Edit Schema”.

Thanks!

Hello @Pawan Gangwani

Thank you for the explanation, I am now able to see the updated Params in my existing workflow. Below are the steps I followed:

  1. Create new fields in the Document generation form.
  2. Execute the workflow again.
  3. Navigate to the Activity tab in the Workflows section in the DocuSign CLM.
  4. Click on the latest executed workflow.
  5. Click on the Params.
  1. A popup window will open.
  2. Copy the Params XML code and open the workflow that needs to be updated.
  3. Click on the Params in the Variables tab.
  4. Click on Edit Schema.
  5. Paste the XML code and Save it.

@animish36 I’m finding that the Params XML does not contain all of the fields that are currently on an Intake Form that I have connected to the SFDC Account object. Specifically, I have a Table pulling in Opportunites using a filter. But this Table XML is not found in Params in the Workflow Activity. I also used ‘Run in debug mode’ and couldn’t locate the Table XML there either. Please advise how to fix this issue so this XML can be leveraged in the workfow.

Hi @erinsimplus, generally I follow the steps that I mentioned in my previous comment, if you are still facing the issue then I am unaware of it.

I guess @Pawan Gangwani can help here.

Hey @erinsimplus

I understand that’s quite strange. It happens to me before when, I create a workflow to kick off by “This workflow will start without content”. On DocuSign support it says that clearly. I would suggest if you can make the change. It will work.

Thanks!

@Pawan Gangwani - I have a question on this fix.  I followed the steps above but when I paste it in, I get two <params> and a Documents drop down so my variables no longer link to the proper place.  Here is the original one and following that snip is the one after I pasted in the updated fields into the Params schema. Thoughts?

Hello @TanyaSestak

The second one with <Params>-<Params> is the correct version because you've updated the Params schema. That said, you now have the capability to locate the "Document" as well as all the "TemplateFields" generated from the intake form.

Thanks!
