I want to send contracts using DocuSign this way: staff draft and upload contract to DocuSign, manager approves/rejects, then it either is sent on to the client to sign or is returned to the staff to make changes as noted. I feel like I read about this but can't recall where.
Can we use DocuSign to approve or reject documents prior to sending?

Yes, the envelope workflow (order of Recipients and the associated Recipient Types) allows you to route a document internally and then externally. Basically structuring the workflow to perform whatever actions are needed prior to Client signatures. There are approve/decline buttons that could be used as well as Comments, Collaborative fields. and even Markup to name a few options or features. Here are a few articles to start....
