Adding email hyperlink to documents

Yes that is the guide I followed, the process worked for hyperlinks to websites, but not for email addresses.

Hi Christopher,

The links are clickable and are showing as clickable in the completed document, the problem is that they are going to a website instead of the email address entered, for example if the email address was cmc073@docusign.com.au, then it is going to the Docusign website. So it is picking up the company name in the email address and going to that site instead of the entered email address. 

I assumed this is because I am using #HREF, but cannot find any reference to using an alternative for an email address.

Hi Christopher, 

See below, I also tried changing the Field Type to Email Field but this then inserts my own email address, which I do not want, I want the accounts email address as below - 

Also, I notice that - 

Clicking the hyperlinks while signing the document, website hyperlinks work, email hyperlinks do not.

Clicking hyperlinks from downloaded document, website hyperlinks do not work, email hyperlinks do.

Hello @cmc073,

This fields are they being created on a Production account or are they being created in a Demo account? Because I tested this in a demo account and the linker is clickable in both instances during the signing session and the completed document, although the email link goes to a blank page, what are you expecting is that this opens the email application so the recipient can create the email and sent it right away.

Hello, 

I’ve a similar issue. I want to add email addresses as links in the document. On clicking of the email address link, it should take me to Outlook as the tooltip is “mailto:xyz@abc.com”. Instead, Docusign is adding “https://” to the link which I’ve provided i.e “mailto:xyz@abc.com”.

Any help would be appreciated.

As I advised above, the email link will not work while in the signing session, but it will work in the final signed document.
