Question

How do I correct formatting on SFDC Doc Gen-- it looks good in create. but preview and generate :(

Hi all-

Thanks for the advice in advance !!

I have created a template from a word document. I added in the merge fields and it looks good and is pulling in good for the create page. I've also added signature and title blocks at the bottom. On the create page everything looks fine and is spaced correctly. When I go to the preview and or generate in salesforce, the bottom pieces are all jumbled together with no spacing for the signature blocks. How do I make sure create looks the same as preview and generate? There's clearly something I missed or something is broken. Thank you.

Hello @RobTGruve,

Thank you for reaching out, and welcome to the Docusign Community! We are glad to have you here and can't wait to help share as much knowledge as possible.

I understand you created a Doc Gen template and noticed discrepancies between the “Create” page and the “Preview” or generated documents in Salesforce. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you.

I have some additional questions and requests for a quicker and more accurate resolution.

  • May you please share the physical Gen Word Template doc you are using (without any Personal Identifiable Information) so we can test it if needed and so we can review the syntax
  • A screenshot of the generated or previewed document so we can see the outcome and/or a screenshot of the previewed document along with the generated document if these two views differ.
  • A screenshot of the Add Fields section in the Salesforce Gen Template so we can review the field mapping and setup.

I look forward to your update. Thank you!

thanks -

Whenever I try to use template → it errors out and says the account is not set up for “smart” actions?

So I just copy and paste , make it look good on the screen→ then its a mess in preview and when I try to send. One thing I thing I did notice-- there are no page breaks I can see? maybe its trying to shove it all into 1 page.

Also, when ever I do try to send -- I get more errors.
