Question

Counter sing automatically

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

We have a usecase where lease agreements are sent to customers using DocuSign. Once the customer completes signing, One of the lease review team member needs to counter sign the document. There are large volume of agreements that needs to go through this process. This happens in Salesforce and our business partners are asking if we can implement a process where the counter sign process happens automatically. i.e. when the signed document is captured in salesforce it should automatically sign the document using the pre defiend document preparer signature who is assocaited with the contract record in salesforce

The lease documents are reviewed before sending it to the customer so once the customer signs the document this needs to be counter singed immediately and no verification is required. Is this possible to implement? if not what are the best options?

@BabuR

Docusign eSignature does not offer the ability to automatically sign a document without human interaction. You can automatically apply an electronic seal as part of the workflow, but not an electronic signature. That seal may have a visual representation on the document, but it is optional. This will create an entry in the certificate of completion.

I have seen customers just adding an image of the internal signature to the envelope, so it visually looks like it was signed by you internally. This needs to be done when preparing the document. This will not create an entry in the certificate of completion.

Thank you @Michael.Rave Adding the image of the signature in the document is a good idea, but In our process, customer signs first and then we counter sign, so that option might not work.

Electronic seal is an interesting idea, I will look into it. Thanks for your feedback and help.

When two different contracts are signed in different envelopes, should two numbers be automatically generated under the signature? If it were to happen that the two contracts have the same numbering under the signature, would that be a way of knowing that there was manipulation of one of the contracts to duplicate the signature without prior authorization
