I have made a checkbox mandatory in my template. However, customers are still able to untick and return.  How can I prevent this?

It sounds like you checked the Mandatory property for a checkbox in your template. Checking this box means that the sender cannot delete the checkbox when using your template; it does not mean the signer must fill it out. Currently, checkboxes are always optional fields when signing. You can also use a Validation on the checkboxes to make them somewhat required. Example: Select the checkbox group > Validation > Select at least > 1

This will require the recipient to select at least one and not leave it blank.
