I am trying to see the body and subject of emails that were sent out for a specific envelope.

I don’t see anything like that on the envelope.

@mshealy

I assume that you reference to it in the context of reporting in Docusign eSignature.

The email body is not part of the fields that you can report on. The email subject is available in certain reports, e.g. the Envelope Recipient Report, where it is just called “Subject” and shown by default. In addition, you can filter on the email subject with the “contains” logic.

The fields available to report differ based on the type of report, e.g. the Envelope Status Report is a high-level summary report that only offers 7 fields to be reported on, while the Envelope Recipient Report offers 44 fields. This may also slightly differ based on the features activated in the account.

Under Agreements the name is equal to the email subject and the email body can be seen under Message, when you click to view the envelope details. If no message is provided it will take the default text for the email body, which is defined in the Email Resource Files. Here you could also change the entire email notification, potentially even overwrite the email subject and email body entered in the envelope itself.

This is very important to see with the envelope.  Can this be added?

Unclear, can you specify what you want to be added where? Thank you!

@Michael.Rave the paragraph that starts with “Under Agreements” is confusing to me.  I don’t know where to start.

 @mshealy

Let me provide some screenshots from my demo environment, where you can see the email subject and email body within the Docusign eSignature Web App.

Clicking on the envelope, you will see the envelope details. In this case no message was entered, so the default email text was added.

ok, yes, i see this for a currently running envelope.  What about a completed one?  There is no way to see all emails sent out?

@mshealy

This is the same for completed envelopes as well. You may click on “More” and select “History” to see all activities related to that envelope. The history includes additional detail, e.g. when invitations or reminders were sent. This does not fully correlate with emails being sent out and you are not able to view the individual emails, but you get insights on what activities happened to the envelope throughout the signing workflow.

Email notifications can be configured be the recipient. Therefore, they may opt-out and choose not to receive email notifications for certain events.

Got cha.  Yeah, so I would like to see all email body for all emails sent out.  That should be kept with the envelope in case there is a question from someone as to what went out. I am having that issue now with a customer.

Hello @mshealy

Thank you for reaching out here in the Docusign Community. Welcome to the Docusign Community and thank you for posting your concerns!

As per @Michael.Rave ‘s advice, can only see the body of the email by checking the envelopes individually. We currently do not have a report that would pull that specific information from all the envelopes on the account.

You may run a report to narrow out the envelopes you need to check.
We can submit a Product Enhancement request regarding this, but please know that it would be up to our engineering team if it would be implemented or not.

I understand that this situation may have caused some inconvenience, and for that, I sincerely apologize. Let us know if you need further assistance.

Best regards,
