What is the Monthly Roundup Event Series?
Each month, a Docusign University trainer compiles some of the most popular questions from the Community and demonstrates solutions, live.
If you have questions about what we covered—or want to see more examples—drop them in the comments and we’ll get back to you.
January’s Topic: eSignature Envelope Recipients
For our first Monthly Round-Up event, Docusign University Product Trainer Chessie Aleman walked through several questions and solutions regarding eSignature Envelope Recipients.
We encourage you to watch the recording above for in-depth demonstrations. In addition, here are some quick takeaways:
Question #1: “I’d like to change the signing order of an envelope that was sent. In the past it was done through the correct button, but now I don’t see the correct option anymore. Has it been removed? What are my options?”
Correcting Envelopes & Changing Signing Order
- Who can use it? The “Correct” button is only available in paid accounts—but it’s perfect for small updates (like reordering signers) while an envelope is still in progress.
- Pro Tip: Locate the sent agreement, click the ellipses, and select Correct to adjust signers or fields.
Question #2: “I’m creating an envelope, bulk sending to around 50 recipients. I’m trying to arrange the signing order as: Recipient first → Sender (myself). It seems like all the envelopes must be signed by me first before sending it out. How can I put myself as the last signer?”
Bulk Send for High-Volume Workflows
- What does it do? Easily send the same document(s) to multiple recipients at once via CSV uploads or manual entry.
- Take Control: Fine-tune the signing order—even set yourself as the last signer if needed.
Question 3: “I’m sending a purchase agreement and need 2 sellers to sign before it goes to multiple buyers. The buyers can sign in any order. Can I label the 2 sellers as ‘1’ and then all buyers as ‘2’?”
Parallel Signing Orders
- Why parallel? Let multiple recipients sign at the same time. Perfect for situations like two sellers signing first (both labeled “1”) before sending on to buyers (labeled “2”).
- Efficiency Win: Reduce wait times by avoiding strict one-by-one sequencing.
Question 4: “Our recruiting coordinator sends a job offer to the recruiter first. If edits are needed, the recruiter requests them before sending it to the candidate. We’d love for the candidate to be auto-routed if no edits are requested—but still allow quick edits when necessary. Any suggestions?”
“Allow to Edit” for Intermediary Recipients
- When to use it? Helpful for scenarios like job offer letters where recruiters and coordinators might need quick edits before sending to the candidate.
- Access Tip: Users with “Allow to Edit” must have the right Docusign permissions (sender level or higher).
Question 5: “I have 40 documents to be signed by two parties: Party A (the same for all 40) and 40 different Party Bs (one for each document). How do I send all 40 documents to Party A at once but ensure each Party B only sees their own document?”
Document Visibility
- 40 Documents, 1 Party A, 40 Party Bs? No problem. Configure all 40 docs in one envelope and use Document Visibility to ensure each Party B only sees their relevant file.
- Secure & Streamlined: Party A signs all, while each Party B sees only their own document.
