Is it possible to use docusign to prove document origination, in that, will a timestamp on a document be able to be verified as authentic to a document signed with docusign on a certain date? I am trying to have proof that a certain creative/intellectual work was made on a certain date, thanks for the input

@cronius

When you sign a document with Docusign eSignature a certificate of completion (CoC) will is generated automatically for each envelope. It contain various timestamps, when it was created, sent, signed, etc.

The CoC is linked to the documents via the envelope ID which is printed on the top left of a document by default. Through this you can proof that a certain document was created/signed on a certain date.

does docusign save a copy of the document on their servers?

@cronius

Yes, a copy of the document is saved by default in Docusign eSignature.

You can set up a document retention policy to remove documents from the platform or purge them manually.
