Afternoon

Bit of an urgent one. A sender of an envelope is on holiday without access to DocuSign. They are also the final signer of an envelope. The documents have all been signed by all parties and waiting on the sender to complete.

What's the best way to allow someone else on the same account to sign in their absence?

Can administrator correct the envelope and change the signer?

Can admin transfer the envelope to another user and does that change the signer?

Many thanks.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out here in the DocuSign Community.

I apologize for the inconvenience, I understand that you have to manage an envelope from another user that is on holiday.

Yes, the account admin can Manage Shared Access to Envelopes, so they can assign themselves or another user to have the option to manage the envelopes for the user that is on a holiday.

You will need to set the permission to manage and then follow this Shared Access to Envelopes to find the options needed to make the corrections.

The admin can also transfer the envelope from one user to another to make the corrections please see Transfer Envelopes and Templates Between Users

Note: Neither of these two options will grant the user/admin the ability to sign on behalf of the other user.

When a user is out of the office, it is recommended to set up a Delegated Signing.

Note: Some advanced features and options are supported only in specific DocuSign plans. Your account plan might not support some options discussed in this help topic. Contact your account administrator for more information about which options are available for your account. Or, visit our Plans and Pricing web page for more details on the features included with your plan.

Thank you.

Hi,

I have to manage the same scenario with one signer on vacation and no delegation activated. Based on your previous recommendations, the Admin cannot help if an envelope is waiting to be signed by a signer that is on vacation with no delegation activated. We are on the Business Pro plan, the only solution is to have the signer on vacation to activate the delegation, am I correct?

Thanks!

Hello,

If the user is only a recipient and not a recipient/sender, then yes the user will need to sign the envelope themselves or set a Delegation.
