Is it possible to let the recipient edit specific fields (for example, some personal details regarding a contract) in the document before signing?

@adinateo

Yes, this is a base functionality. The sender sets the permissions for every field that is added in DocuSign eSignature and the recipients are able to interact with the fields in the way the sender gave them permissions.

Each field is assigned to a specific recipient and you can configure a many details based on the field type you selected, like if it is required to be filled out or optional, if there is some pattern validation, e.g. a number or a specific format, the max length of the field, etc.

The sender may pre-fill fields with values and allow the recipient to update those fields or make them “read only” to prevent changes from the recipient.
