Dear support,
Dear DocuSign community,
 
I am struggling with some new features in DocuSign which I noticed today and for which I need a recommendation or solution:

a.  in the past I had 3 options for signing an envelope

  1. now I have 5 (which one to use is now more complex as I have several partners who accept DocuSign but do not have an account)
  2. When I initiated the signage process in the past, I could just put my initials on each page of the doc and sign with the SMS → 
    NOW DocuSign asks on each page for
    1) the purpose of the initials and
    2) the Authentication 

    (that is wired and exhausting -  please help)

Welcome to the Docusign Community and thank you for posting your concerns!

The reason of why you are being asked for a signature reason and authentication is due to the envelope being sent via CFR Part 11 account which requires the signature to be like that, if you sent a document out for signature from a normal account, it will not request such things. Also, there is an option that the admin might be able to enable called “Rapid Signing”:

Regarding the options, it seems like the admin of your account enabled a few “pens” for documents (usually documents that require you to be aligned with European regulations), if you do not need to comply with European regulations, you can set any of the other authentication options: What is an Advanced Electronic Signature AES
