Hello everyone! For work, I often send forms for approval, to be signed via DocuSign. Along with the form, I send documents that need to be signed using a digital signature on Adobe, not via DocuSign, after the approval flow. The problem is that when the approval process is complete and I go to download the document to be digitally signed, the PDF is locked, and I can't apply the signature.

Is there a way to prevent this from happening? The PDF that needs to be digitally signed on Adobe is different from the one signed on DocuSign; it is uploaded only for reference, to be viewed.

Thank you!

Hello @AriCa ,

Welcome to the Docusign Community and thank you for posting your concerns!

There isn’t a way to prevent this as this is something that is implemented to protect the validity of the signature and information placed on the document. If you download the document after it was signed within Docusign (or any other digital signing platform really) and have it signed in a different platform, it can render it useless as it will show invalid. I recommend you use a single digital signing application to get all the needed signatures.

Let us know if you need further assistance with this.
