I understand that you are looking to use your check boxes in a formula, and I will share the steps to set this up.
Even though you will not be able to use your check boxes as part of your formula values, you could work around this limitation by relating a text box with the value through conditional logic.
These fields can be used in the formula, and can be formatted with white font, as to not be perceived by the signer in the signing session.
