I was presented with a completed document that shows my electronic signature (generic one) but I did not sign the document. Is it possible for the sender to just put in my signature and say that I signed it?

Thank you so much for this information. I had read through it all. None of it, however, is applicable to someone signing my name on a $250,000 purchase that I did NOT make. Do you know who I can contact about that? The employee that didi it is, of course gone and the corporate side of the company just sees a signed document event though it wasn’t signed by me. Is there someone I can contact for help or do I need an attorney at this point?

Hello @SKellner,

Thank you for reaching back, I recommend getting the Certificate of Completion and then contacting a local legal office for this, the certificate of completion should provide you with the Signing session that would contain the IP address of the person who signed the document.

Unfortunately, DocuSign doesn’t provide direct legal advice, but we do offer the DocuSign Legal FAQ article that you can see by clicking the link below: Docusign Legal FAQ. If you need more specific legal guidance that the Legal FAQ doesn’t address, please consult a law office in your local jurisdiction or your company’s legal team.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

Hi! It’s still all in process. There really wasn’t any sort of “resolution” someone typed in my name on a docusign document  that I have never seen. Putting me on the hook for $250K worth of med spa machinery. Just trying to figure out what to so.

Hello @SKellner,

I apologize for any inconvenience this might cause you. From the Docusign end, the options that we offer are to get the certificate of completion and present that to a local legal office to determine the best action to take and report this in the following link https://www.docusign.com/trust/security/incident-reporting.
