I use Docusign every 3-6 months for standard signatures requested on documents. In the past, my signature used in Docusign is the script signature I have selected. A new document sent to me, that has two signers (myself and another individual), is not accepting my script signature and is defaulting to a standard type. However, the other signer is able to use a script signature. I have reset my script signature several times, however, the document always defaults back to a typed signature. A normal type signature is not even an option in my list of created signatures. Any suggestions? Is this a setting the original sender of the document has unknowingly selected? TIA
According to the help documents these are the reasons a signature can’t be changed:
There is certain scenario where you cannot change your signature. Follow these steps to determine why you can't change your signature:
- Make sure you have an active Docusign account. If you do not have an account at the time of signing, you cannot change your selected signature. See the Sign Documents for Free article to learn about getting a Docusign account.
- Check with your account administrator to ensure that your recipient name is not locked. Some senders lock recipient names.
- You cannot select a saved signature if you are the only signer.
Change your signature for a document you must sign by sending yourself an envelope, and adding yourself as the only recipient. Your default signature is applied. However, you can optionally change and select another saved signature.
- Make sure you are not trying to change your signature when:
- Using Docusign Mobile App for Android or Mobile App for iOS.
- Using in-person signing as described in the In person signing article.
- There are digital or universal signatures. See the Digital Signatures/Universal Signatures article (for situations described in the Sign Part 11 Module Enabled Documents article.)
- The document was signed and returned.
I thought there was also a scenario where the sender can lock out a signature change, but I can’t find that information (it may only apply to a previous version of DocuSign)
good luck
