Creating templates to add to another template

To see if I understood correctly, you need to create a template that you would like to apply to documents that are going to be changing, is that right?

If so, you could create a normal template but instead of using it, you can create the envelope with the needed document and apply the template: Apply Templates to Documents

Sorry to jump in on this one, but I think that @fback was asking a slightly different question; one that I also need to get answered.

So I have a bunch of individual document templates and what I need is to pull these together in different ways to create further templates, e.g. I will need to use templates 1, 2 and 3 to create template n and then need templates 2, 3 and 4 to create template x. Currrently, I cannot pull these original tempates into another template and need to resort to pulling in the original documents and rectreating all of the fields every time. 

What I need is the matching that is used when building envelopes to also recognise a template when it is being pulled into another template.

Thank you for the kind welcome and also for the advice. This has worked :-)

It’s a good way to achieve what I need but still feels like a bit of a workaround. It would be cool to be able to combine Templates more easily in the Template area itself. That said, this will save me a lot of time in future, so I am super grateful.
