Can I add my e-signature when the document returns, or do I have to indicate where I sign before sending it to the other party?

I understand you would like to know if you can add your signature when the envelope returns completed or if you would need to add it before sending.

If my signature was not a part of that document so would the contract need to be resent in order to add my signature?
