Hello DocuSign Community,

I am working on a form where I need to capture specific numeric values in a "Score" field based on the radio button (bullet point) selected by the user. Currently, I can only set up rules to show or hide fields based on the selection, but I need to directly populate a number field with a predefined value corresponding to each bullet point selected.

Here’s what I’m trying to achieve: Depending on which bullet point the user selects, a corresponding numeric value should automatically fill a separate "Score" field. For example, if Option A is selected, the Score field should automatically be set to 100, Option B to 70, and so forth.

The existing rules functionality only allows me to show or hide fields but does not support assigning values directly. Is there a workaround or a method within DocuSign to accomplish this?

Thank you for your help!

Hi @a.k.sangui,

Thank you for reaching out to the Docusign Community.

Even though this is a know limitation for our conditional logic feature, there is a workaround to it that will work for your use case. To relate the numerical values to your radio buttons you can add a text box field with white font next to each radio, this will allow you to link them through conditional logic, limiting the text boxes to appear only when the radios are clicked and making them invisible to the signer due to the font color selected. Once this is done, you will be able to use a formula to add or substract the values from your total.

An alternative to this option would be using a dropdown menu instead of a radio group. You can find more details on this scenario, here:

Thanks Alejandro, if I do this, when not clicked, those fields will not add up in my formula field, right?
I have used that white font before but it is a little sketchy, DS really should implement a different approach to calculations, being able to add simple scripts would be nice.

Hi @a.k.sangui,

Thank you for following up.

Due to the conditional logic setup these text boxes should only be activated if their respective radio is selected. And, the white font should not be visible, unless you are working with a document background other than white.
