Question

Two fields, signer only has to complete one

I have a document where the signer has to complete one of two sections, so I can’t make these fields mandatory because they only need to complete one, and only they will know which one needs to be compelted.  These fields are currently set as Optional, but that means the Signer can skip right past them, how to I get the to complete one of the two options?

Hi @AdeleB,

Welcome to the Docusign Community!

We are glad to have you here and can't wait to help share as much knowledge as possible.

I understand that you are looking to allow your signer to complete one set of fields out of two, and I will share the steps to set this up. The best approach for this scenario would be the use of Conditional Logic. With Conditional Logic you can set 2 radio buttons as triggers for your 2 sets of fields, each one related to a different set of fields. These Conditional Fields can be set as required since the application will only display one set at a time. You can configure you fields as Conditional Fields, as part of the Fields Properties menu located at the right side of the screen after dropping or clicking on the field to edit. You can find detailed steps on this process, here:
