What is the definition of "Envelope" when docusign talks about it? Is that just a word they are using instead of document? or is "Envelope" another word for "File Folder"????

Great question! Here is the official documentation on what an “Envelope” means:
https://support.docusign.com/s/articles/000045001?language=en_US
To simplify, an envelope is a container for a one-time transaction through eSignature. In your envelope, you will have at least one document, one recipient, an email subject with message, and fields added to the documents contained within the envelope.
So an envelope is not synonymous with a document directly, but does contain them, as well as other required elements to complete the envelope transaction.
I hope this helps guide and wish you a wonderful day!
