hi all

i need to update an existing form so that blank boxes are not mandatory fill (required) as my clients don't always know the answer

You can make the fields optional, when you edit the template, select the field and remove the checkbox “Required field”, which is the default for several field types.

You can find a step by step guide to set it to optional in this DocuSign Support Article.
