I have a document with an “office use only” field for the signer’s account number, but that number is not generated until after signing is complete. Is there any way to create a field that is not required for completion of the envelope, but that I can go back and fill in at a later time?
No, this is not possible. When the envelope workflow is complete, the document cannot be modified anymore.
You could add another recipient in the workflow to complete the field after the person has signed, but before the workflow is completed. You won’t have a completed document until this last recipient has completed.
