I have had & used DocuSign for many years now. I have now sent 2 separate DocuSigns to my client, Sherri Ross, to sign & initial. Her initials should be SR, as shown before her name. The initials keep showing up as MSR. Those are not her initials. Help!! How can we fix this? Looks like a glitch to me. I have never used the initial M for her name!!

Please help me!! I'd love a phone call!!

Thank you, Carol Stack

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out here in the DocuSign Community.

I am sorry to hear that your signer is experiencing issues with their initials not showing as expected.

The quickest way to approach this issue would be to change the recipient name to a different variant of the signer's full name.

You could place a dot at the end of the name or add an initial, for example.

This will trigger the envelope to be reassigned to a different user in the application, which should prevent the saved version of the initials from appearing again, as these were related to the original user.

Another option (if your user owns an active DocuSign user) would be for them to change their initials by left clicking the initials field and choosing "Change" from the dropdown menu that will be displayed.

For detailed steps on this process, see:

How do I change my signature or adopt a custom signature?

Also, Your signer may not see the "Change" option for the following reasons:

  • You do not have an active DocuSign Account
  • You are signing using:
    • DocuSign mobile apps
    • In-Person Signing Session
    • Digital Signatures/Universal Signatures (CFR part 11, etc.)
    • Sign and Return
  • Sender has locked recipients names

Feel free to let us know if you need further assistance with this.

Thank you for using DocuSign, we hope you have a wonderful rest of your day!
