I’m new to DocuSign and fumbling my way through. I’ve done some searching and watching videos, but am not finding what I am looking for so maybe I’m not phrasing my search correctly. I am mostly using DocuSign to send contracts to vendors and clients for initial/signature. So each document has different project specific information, but the format is the same. For example, it’s an 18 page document and the bottom left of pages 1-16 all need initials by both parties, and then pages 16 and 18 need signatures from both parties. Is there a way to develop a template where these locations appear in the same position on each new document without having to click 16 times for each person for the initial spots and 2 times for each person for the signature spots? I definitely feel like I’m missing something, since this is supposed to help simplify things. Thank you!!

Welcome to the DocuSign Community!
Sure, you can do that using templates. It’s possible to use the Auto Place option in your document where you can set specific words or phrase in your document (template) where you want the Initials field or Sign Here field or any other field be automatically positioned. On this way, does not matter how many pages a new contract has, applying a templete on it will make the field be automatically positioned because it will be used the Auto Place text.
I suggest to you visit our DocuSign University portal, login using your current eSignature credential.

Also, this one explains more about Auto Place.
I hope that helps!

Thank you! I have learned that I don’t have the correct admin access to make any sort of changes, and my company says that they cannot change that, since we have so many registered users. So I’ll just keep moving the way I have been. Thanks for the help!! Now I’ll know if I am ever afforded access.
Hello,
Maybe your company’s eSignature Admin may take advantage of using Customized Permission Profiles.
By default, a Sender user cannot create Templates, only use it. However, it’s possible to create a customized Sender Permission Profile granting the permission to create templates. So, the Admin could include your user in this new customized Profile, that’s what most of companies using DocuSign eSignature do.
All the best,
Alexandre
