I am in litigation with  a company and I have a pdf of a docusigned document that I cannot locate in my  account under the email address that I currently am able to log in under and the other two emails do not have docusigned accounts that they may of been under.  I have the envelope number but I do not have this document in my email that the other party has my email address too.

I would feel I would have a copy on my hard drive or in my email.   I have neither and they have locked me out of my accounts on both the  financial side and the website for the car dealership.

is there a way to track down the document with the envelope id?

Hi @Riyasat_ansari,

Thank you for reaching out to the Docusign Community.

Docusign Support can’t share access to documents you don’t currently own. If you lack access to the account that owns the envelopes, or can’t find the email notification with the access link, the envelope’s sender will be the only person that will get the option to resend it to you.

However, if your main concern is due to the legal process you are currently going through, the sender will be required to provide the completed documents as part of the discovery process, during the court proceedings. This was mentioned in the thread provided below:

Feel free to let us know if you need further assistance with this.

How can this be a legal document if both parties are not , only one gets to keep a document? The signing party should be able to access any signed document that was given to them through your site.   Or be able to search by envelopes AND given a document in pdf form to keep. No emails show on my end of either confirmation of the signed documents or even my own copy.

Then your company (docusign) seems to delete these documents.  If legal documents delivered, they need to be retained by all parties.

Even docusign.

Hi @iallfree,

Thank you for following up.

From a Docusign perspective having access to the email notification, or to the user used to sign the envelope provides you with unlimited access to the completed document as a signer.

It is also important to note that Docusign Support, and the eSignature application lack access to deleting user’s envelopes. It’s required for the user owning the envelopes to manually purge them for these to be deleted from their account.

I recommend you referring to the post mentioned in my last comment, as it will illustrate how to better handle this scenario.

Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I will address them as soon as possible.
