One of our users sent a document to a provider for signature.  Instead of completing the documents electronically, they downloaded and wet signed the document, then gave the physical copy back to the sender.

Is there a way for the Sender to upload those documents to the envelope to complete it out?  Or does it have to be the recipient that has to do the upload?  Sender didn’t want to void it out but he doesn’t want it sitting open as incomplete either.

Your help is appreciated!

Thanks,

Ann

Hello @Ann Michanicou ,

Welcome to the Docusign Community and thank you for posting your concerns!

The sender could scan the documents and correct the envelope to replace the not signed documents with the ones that were wet signed and change the recipient from “Needs to sign” to a “Receives a Copy” (please note that this will only be possible if there isn’t any other signer that has completed their actions, if there was, the document becomes locked and can not be changed).

In the case there was any other recipient and they completed their actions, the signer would have to go through the whole process of the “Print & Sign” option to upload the documents: Print and Sign Documents

Another option would also be to have the sender correct the envelope and either change the recipient to a “Receives a Copy” or remove them altogether.

Let us know if you need further assistance with this.

Besides this envelope we technically suggest to uncheck the setting "Allow recipients to sign on paper" takes away the "Print and Sign" option under Actions that can be taken by the Recipient.

However, Recipients are viewing the document in a browser window and could easily choose to Save or Print the document from the browser window. That cannot be stopped.

Have you inquired about why the Recipients have chosen to print. I would try to get the reason behind the method they are using, perhaps they are just misunderstanding the purpose of electronic signature.
