Can I create a 'total' formula that can add, and subtract number fields by using negative numbers in the number field?

If one of my solutions has a negative number, how do I write the formula?

I can add each number field and get a correct outcome, but I don't know if I can create the formula to capture a negative number and positive numbers in the same formula.

Current formula = [R1 ExOTC] + [R2 ExOTC] + [R3 ExOTC] + [R4 ExOTC] + [R5 ExOTC]
