Resizing Fields - Large fields obscure adjacent information
I send lots of applications with very dense forms, search google for ACORD 125 for an example. I know how to resize text boxes, but there seems to be a minimum size. Those fields then overlap each other and hide adjacent text.
Is there a way to either reduce the minimum size or add transparency to text boxes and other fields?

To clarify, when you set the size do you toggle the option to fix the width?

I use the drag bars to resize, although height is usually the problematic measurement.
Hello @SuttonBBINS,
Thank you for reaching back, can you provide an screenshot of this? Are you using a template?

This was an image sent by one of my users. The two text boxes on Q.6 provide a good example of my problem.
Hello @SuttonBBINS,
Thank you for reaching back, would if be possible for you to provide a test/example blank copy of the document that is being use? or possible a copy of the template that is being used?

The sample form is attached.
Hello @SuttonBBINS,
Thank you for reaching back and for providing the sample, I noticed in the previous screenshot that Q.2 presents an overlapping can you confirm if that is also one of the fields that you are referring to?

Hi,
Yes, that is another example of the problem. That may have been partly my mistake in placement but does demonstrate very clearly another aspect of my issue.
However, my concern is not with a specific field, but with the behavior in any document where I may be adding response fields. The current editor does not allow me to shrink the field enough to fit into the available space without overlapping (Q.6). Further, that overlap is not transparent, so it obscures other information (Q.2 completely obscures Q.3).
Hello @SuttonBBINS,
Do you have a character limit for the text fields?

I can’t answer that question because it is very dependent on the form and specific question. In most cases, 25-30 characters would be the maximum needed.
Hello @SuttonBBINS,
This is my test:
Is this what you are looking for?
This is the text configuration for the Q.2:
And this for Q.6:
In both instances you will need to manually set the size of the text field, when you set the Fixed Width and change the font size along with the Character limit you will outline the parameters of the character input and how it is shown in the system.

Is there a way to change the default formatting for text boxes? It seems the current default is 4000 characters, variable width.
Hello @SuttonBBINS,
As an administrator, you can enable optional fields and their properties for the sending settings of an account. This includes defining the default font for fields, enabling formula fields for dynamic calculations, enabling conditional fields for conditional logic, enabling conditional routing for envelope routing based on data, allowing admins to share custom fields with other users, and writing the initial value of fields for all recipients when an envelope is sent.
