Hi all,

 

We’ve had a few situations where some of our users will send an agreement for signature, but then the doc is returned via a separate email with a signature. In some cases users will have used their own instances of DocuSign to sign the agreement, presumably for their own archiving purposes. 

Now we have an agreement that has been only signed by the counterparty and still requires a signature by someone from our own team. I can obviously download the doc and reupload then only send the document to the users that needs to sign it on our end, however this will definitely be questionable as the certificate of completion will only be able to show one signature.

 

How do I go about fixing something like this?

I am sorry to hear that your signers are not completing your envelopes, but I will share more details about the available options to approach this scenario.

 

Based on your description of the issue, it seems like your signers are downloading the documents during the signing session, after clicking the access link in the email notification.

 

If that is the case, you could disable the “Download Documents” options on the menu at the top of the screen, through the account’s Signing Resource File, in Settings>Brands>Signing> Edit Brand>Resource Files.

 

The parameter that manages this option is named “DocuSign_SigningAllowDownload”, you can find detailed instructions on how to work with this option in page 38 of the guide provided below:

Note: Some advanced features and options are supported only in certain Docusign plans. Your account plan might not support some options discussed in this help topic.
