Hey everyone—I’m a product manager at Docusign and wanted to open a thread for questions and use-case advice on the new Docusign connector in Claude Cowork via MCP.

The Docusign connector enables Claude to securely access agreement context and take action using Docusign IAM (Intelligent Agreement Management) capabilities so you can automate agreement workflows and surface insights directly from Claude.

I’d love to hear your questions on topics like:

  • How can I use this connector to enable agreement workflows?
  • What use cases does Docusign connector in Claude support?
  • How can I implement the Docusign MCP connector across teams? 

At a high level, the connector has capabilities around:

  • Agreement workflow automation powered via Maestro
  • Agreement insights powered via Navigator
  • Creating and sending agreements for signature powered via eSignature

I can’t get this to connect from Claude CoWork, where I’ve setup a custom connector configured with the keys provisioned from a developer account. I keep getting a 500 error. I’ve tried signing in and out multiple times.

 

What’s the issue?

 

I tried the built-in connector but that’s blocked because I’m still waiting for Beta approval on the main account.

hey! I wanted to ask about Docusign Claude MCP

How can we be sure our data stays confidential? any agreement to be additionally signed with claude mcp?

Hi ​@Ragimat Rashkueva,
We appreciate the concern for data confidentiality.  Docusign is not party to any end user's agreement with Anthropic (the provider of Claude). Therefore, we cannot comment on their specific data practices or legal terms.

The best next step would be to review your current terms with Anthropic directly to see if their standard protections cover your requirements or if an additional signed agreement is needed.

Regarding the connection error, please note that the Docusign Claude Connector currently supports document generation via Docusign templates only. Direct file uploads are not supported at this time.

We are currently troubleshooting your specific developer account configuration via our ongoing email thread to help resolve the 500 error you are seeing.

Is there a possibility to connect Claude CoWork with DocuSign CLM?

@Mik You can find the list of available tools for the Docusign connector in Claude Cowork here. It doesn’t currently support any CLM-specific tools, but you could explore building your own connection to Claude through the CLM API.

I’ll share this feedback with the team as well.

Hi, I have 2 questions:

  1. I was able to do the Custom Connector and connect to Claude. I set it at the Organization Level. I tried to have one of my employees connect to it, but it keeps asking him to sign in and says incorrect password. I thought maybe he had to sign up as a Developer, but he wasn’t able to do that either. How can my team use this?
  2. It said we would be able to send envelopes, but Claude is returning that it’s not able to. How do I fix this?

@Hannah G For connecting the Custom Connector, you need a Docusign developer account. You can signup one for free here. The Claude Connector works for individual accounts (Claude account + Docusign developer account).

Once the Connector establishes a successful connection, query to get your Docusign account details and then try to send an envelope through Claude.

If you still face issues, let us know with the exact error screenshots.

@BalajiJ To just focus on them not being able to create a Developer account, we are following the steps, using different emails and browsers, and he is unable. He just consistently gets this request cannot be completed

@Hannah G Were you able to create a new developer account now?
I created a one here and I can create new developer accounts without facing issues. I tried using this link.

After you signup, you will receive a code to your email id. Enter the six digit code received in your inbox and set a new password to access your Docusign account. Follow the process of setting up the MCP server after you create a new app in your account.
