Within a document: Must all initial spots be completed? If they are not within agreement?  Is there a way to skip and Finish.

Our landlord agreement has an addendum attached to the regular contract that we don’t accept.

Hello @Hross,

Thank you for reaching out to the Docusign Community! I understand that you have concerns regarding specific initial fields in your agreement that you do not accept. We’re here to provide clarity on the matter.

Regarding your question on skipping these fields, if a field appears “Required” during your signing session, it means the sender specifically configured it that way during the setup of the envelope.

In Docusign, an envelope cannot be finalized or marked as “Finished” until all required fields have been completed.

If there are discrepancies in the contract or an addendum that you do not agree with, we suggest the following:

Contact the Sender:  Reach out to the person who sent the envelope and ask them to modify the document or set those specific fields as optional.
Decline to sign:  If you cannot reach an agreement, you have the option to select “Decline to Sign” within the Other Actions menu. This will void the envelope and notify the sender that you do not accept the terms.

You can watch this video on how fields are being configured by senders: Docusign eSignature: How to Configure Field Properties

We want to make sure you feel confident in the documents you are signing. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Best Regards,
