Question for sending excel spreadsheets through Docusign.  I have Custom Header like Employee report 2025.

In Docusign it appears like this

Is this because of the font of the headers or something else?

Hey there @mcraun Welcome to the DocuSign Community! Glad to have you here and look forward to sharing helpful insights with you.

DocuSign supports uploading Excel files 👉Supported File Formats. When you upload an Excel document, it is automatically converted to PDF to ensure a smooth eSignature experience, which may result in changes to its original format. For best results, we recommend exporting your Excel form to PDF before uploading it to DocuSign.

Looking at your screenshot, it appears to be an Envelope ID—a unique identifier generated by the DocuSign system for each envelope. The feature is managed by your Docusign Administrator ( under Sending Settings ), with the following options:

  • Automatically stamp the ID at the top-left of every page in your document
  • Manually place the ID where you want it to appear, and set the font and other formatting properties
  • Send a document without the ID appearing anywhere on it

If the ID appears at the top-left of your document, your Admin likely selected the first option. If you’d like to customize whether the Envelope ID appears and where it is placed, please reach out to your Administrator to set it up according to your preference.

💡Control Envelope ID Placement

💡Manually Place and Format the Envelope ID on a Document

I hope it helps clear things up. Let us know if you have questions— we're here for you!

Sincerely,
