Envelopes expiring despite 120 day expiration period

We have a 120 day expiration period on all our envelopes, but one client is saying the link they receive has expired despite it being within the 120 days.

They are the second signer of the envelope before it comes back to us; is this anything to do with it? Is there a certain time period between the first signer completing their section that the second signer has to complete their section or the link will expire?

Hi @MeganB88,

We appreciate you reaching out to the Docusign Community and are delighted to have you join us.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing an issue with an expired envelope signing link. I’ll be happy to help you with this.

For security reasons, Docusign email signing links automatically expire after 48 hours or 5 clicks, whichever comes first. The envelope history can be reviewed to determine how many times the signer accessed the envelope. When the signer attempts to access an expired link, they may have the option to request a new link, or the sender can resend the envelope to generate a new signing link.

Please note that the 120-day expiration period applies to the entire envelope and not to each individual signer. If the envelope remains incomplete when it reaches its 120-day expiration date, it will automatically be voided, regardless of whether another recipient has already completed their signing.
