Hello,

My first question on the move to Microsoft Azure: Is Microsoft Azure already a subprocessor / third party used by DocuSign or are they new?

An additional question, based on the the FAQ, it mentions that transactions processing is what is moving:

  1. What does processing entail? Is this the entire service including storage of data?
  2. Is historical information being migrated as part of this or is it just services and future processing that is being transferred?

Hello @Kurt Oberhausen,

Welcome to the Docusign Community. Thanks for your questions about DocuSign’s move to Microsoft Azure—happy to clarify!

  •  Is Microsoft Azure a new subprocessor? No, Microsoft Azure is not new to DocuSign’s subprocessor list. Azure has been listed as a cloud infrastructure provider since at least August 15, 2022. The recent update in the August 2025 release notes is a continuation of that earlier notification, reflecting changes such as updated processing locations or expanded use of Azure services. You can view the official update here: 👉DocuSign Subprocessor Update
  • What does “processing” entail? After the migration, the entire service will run on Azure, including the storage of data. This means both historical and future information will be processed and stored within Azure’s.

I hope this helps clarify things! If you found this response helpful, feel free to give it a like or mark it as the best answer. Let us know if you have any further questions
