Docusign sent me an email:

-------------------------------------------------------------------

You received a document to review and sign.

Review Document

Alan.pdf

Complete with Docusign: Alan.pdf

-------------------------------------------------------------------

So I clicked the ‘Review Document’ button and I was taken to a page for signing in. I have no idea what user name and password are expected. I try some sensible values and I am rejected. There is a panel displaying ‘Sign in options’ and I click it, hoping to be enabled to set a new password. Nothing happens.

Your email also says:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alternate Signing Method

Visit Docusign.com, click 'Access Documents', and enter the security code:

CB4D8********************************7

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In which ‘Alternate’ presumably means ‘Alternative’. I go to Docusign.com and there is nothing labelled 'Access Documents'. I see a badly labelled text box that I think might lead me to 'Access Documents', I try it, and I seem to be conned into opening an account that I don’t want. I wade through yards of rubbish on the Docusign.com landing page and I can’t find 'Access Documents' anywhere. I try the chatbot. It says ‘Log in to your Docusign account: Open the Docusign Home page.’, which is what I am trying to do – so that’s no help.

I visit an old email from Docusign.com that has a link to their site, I use it an I am able to enter. There is still no 'Access Documents' but there is ‘Agreements’. In it I see a document I signed on the first of July (stamped seventh of January) and that is all. There is no ‘Alan.pdf’. The chatbot advises me to use the search tool, but that can’t find ‘Alan.pdf’.

I’ve wasted over an hour on this fiasco. Can Docusign please:

1) Remove any trial account I’ve been manoeuvred into creating today.

2) Check that I have only one account and give me clear instructions for accessing it.

3) Direct me to ‘Alan.pdf’ – it could be sometime important.

When I try to find your support page to send Docusign these notes I am asked to log in, and presented with a list of account types I don’t recognise. I take a punt on ‘eSignature and IAM Applications’ and it doesn’t let me in. This is particularly silly because I’m already logged in. I eventually find something that can be clicked to give me email support, and it’s marked as for paid subscribers only.

I am aware that this forum is not the ideal place for this message, but I have no alternative. I’m hoping somebody from Docusign will see it and deal with the issues it raises. Failing that, can anyone give me a channel into Docusign so I can have them sort out the mess they have created for me?

@AlanNP

Are you sure what you were sent is a legit DocuSign envelope - were you expecting it?

Did you have an account prior to receiving the request to sign?

If you had an account and received a DocuSign envelope at the email the account is listed under, you would be able to see that envelope when you signed in. If you created an account AFTER receiving the envelope, then you will not see it in your account - you’ll need to use the original link.

You may need to contact the sender of the document to have them send it to the email address your account it linked to.

good luck

Thanks for your response.

No, it wasn’t, it was a scam sending me to a fake DocuSign website (and wasting hours of my time).

I hope my post hasn’t wasted anyone else’s time,

Alan.

Jenny,

Thanks for letting me know about the abuse reporting facility, I’ve submitted a report. I was a bit piqued that my email address, which has been in regular use for over 20 years, failed verification,

Alan.
