Automating using Verification Type : access code is working fine

Verification Type : ID Verification and Phone Authentication is not taking the value provided via power automate cloud flows.

I am using the add verification type to a recipient(v2) action using the DocuSign Connector.

Please find following steps:

  1. Create envelope - working
  2. Add documents to envelope - working
  3. Add recipient details to envelope - working
  4. Add verification type to the recipient - working for Verification Type set as Access code and None but not working for Phone Authentication and ID Verification. Asking for workflow ID- which I passed blank value , does throw any error but doesn't write the value in docusign application

Kindly suggest what when wrong.

verification workflow - under dropdown I cant see any information.

Manually I am able to key in the Phone and SMS authentication (country code and number) under Identity verification of DocuSign app. But with Power Automate getting issue - its a roadblocker to my process.

I tired to pass - recipient guid, envelope id, recipient id under verification workflow in Add verification type stage and got error : IDENTITY_WORKFLOW_INVALID_ID.

Then I passed “Phone Authentication” under workflow ID as suggest here but got error - The request body is missing or improperly formatted.

Does the DocuSign power automate connector does not support ID verification and Phone Authentication features?

Hello @shabnamsinha,

Thank you for reaching out in the DocuSign Community.

Yes, DocuSign Power Automate supports both ID Verification and Phone Authentication features.

Before using these, please check the following:

1. Plan Eligibility: Confirm whether your current DocuSign plan includes these authentication options. You can review available plans and features here: DocuSign Plans and Features

2. Feature Enablement: If your plan includes them but you still can’t access these options, they might not be enabled yet. In that case, please contact your DocuSign Administrator to review your account settings.

If you’re not an admin user, your admin can open a support case to request enabling these features: Contact DocuSign Support

For more details on these authentication methods, you can also check:

@Jenny.Martin : Can you look into my issue

I just need the the mobile number to be populated in my docusign - whether recipient is receives a copy or allow to edit or nedds to sign.

Populating access code via power automate connector is working fine. Issue is with Identity verification. Please guide.

Hello @shabnamsinha

Apologies for not getting back to you sooner.

I just want to confirm that what you want is that the phone number of the recipient you are going set it to should automatically appear? Is this correct?
Hope to hear from you soon.

@marco.tanglao : Thanks for asking

I want to pass this phone number (a dynamic field) - can be any country code any number through power automate.

Under recipient details how order number and all are set I want this phone number to be populated by power automate whether I send the envelope or just keep the envelope in drafts.

I tired this way , but got error : This is the error: This Account lacks sufficient permissions.  Account lacks permission to send Envelopes over SMS.'"}}

Also i think added the phone authentication under Add recipient to an envelope will not work as it will send the sms to the recipient with the link which is not the purpose. The purpose to add phone authentication is for the users to authenticate when signing in to the envelope via sms code when they receive the envelope details via docusign.

Using Add verification type to a recipient for Access Code works. I pass below details and run my workflow, it is successfully able to key in the Access code

The access code value is populated in Docusign.

But when I use same step for Phone Authentication, the values is not populating/ keyed in the DocuSign.

The verification workflow dropdown is null so I am passing blank value. Can you guide me what value should be passed here?

@shabnamsinha

I reached out to a different team and was told that they had this same concern and that you may follow the steps provided in the links below.

Add recipient to an envelope

Error in Add verification type to a recipient when using ID Verification workflows

You can now use ID Verification signature types by selecting the ID Verification workflow in the Add recipient to an envelope (V2) action. You can no longer select ID Verification workflows with signature types in the Add verification type to a recipient action, and must use the Add recipient on the envelope (V2) action instead.
