Question

Importing SSO Certificate - File format?

  Hello,

I need to update our Certificate for our DS instance. We use Azure for our binding, I am talking with our SSO admin, he asked if the file is a .xml? I am not sure myself, it is .XML, or .txt, etc?

When I click + Add Certificate, the open page says all files.

When I add the certificate, how do I know that it is operational? How do I verify that it is working? I keep the other one around until it is not required, so I delete it at that point.

      Thanks for the help!

Hello @JT098,

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Docusign Community!

I understand the concern about uploading the correct file and confirming that the change is working.

Your admin should download the certificate from the identity provider and save it as a .cer file in Base64 format. This is the certificate you should upload under Docusign Identity Providers

To verify that the new certificate is working, keep the existing certificate active and wait for your SSO administrator to confirm that Azure is using the new certificate. Then perform a fresh SSO login with a test user, preferably from a private browser window. Confirm that Azure authenticates the user and that the user reaches the correct Docusign account.

Once Azure is using the new certificate and the test login succeeds, you can safely remove the old certificate. Multiple certificates can remain active during the transition.

For the upload steps, see Docusign SSO: How do I upload or update my SSO certificate?

For additional details, see: Docusign SSO: How to troubleshoot common issues

I hope this helps. Feel free to reach out here in the community if you have any other questions.
