Hi,
I would like to propose enabling the option to sign XML files through DocuSign using an EU Qualified Electronic Signature.
XML is the mandatory format for submitting financial statements for all companies in Poland. Currently, DocuSign EU Qualified Electronic Signatures cannot be used for this purpose because this format is not supported. As a result, we are forced to switch to another vendor.
Poland is a relatively significant market (almost 40 million people) where many formalities must be completed electronically (e.g., submitting financial statements, signing corporate documentation and filings to the commercial register, signing documents for tax authorities, etc.). Therefore, there is a strong need for electronic signatures with EU Qualified Electronic Signature. At present, DocuSign is behind other providers as it does not support XML. I believe that users in other countries may also require such functionality.
This requirement is not limited to Poland. In fact, all EU member states mandate electronic reporting in formats based on XML (such as ESEF/XBRL) for listed companies, and similar obligations exist in other jurisdictions like the United States (SEC filings in XML/XBRL), Japan, China, India, Canada, and Australia. These markets also rely on XML-based formats for regulatory and financial reporting, often requiring advanced or qualified electronic signatures.
