Current Behavior:
When an account is closed, the user is automatically removed from all associated groups.
Problem:
In organizations with many groups and users, it becomes challenging to track and recall which groups a user belonged to—especially if the account needs to be reactivated later. This can lead to inefficiencies and mistakes in restoring access.
Proposed Change:
Instead of removing the user from all groups upon account closure, preserve the user's group memberships. This way, if the account is reactivated, the user can be reinstated with the same group affiliations, ensuring a smoother and more accurate restoration process.
Benefits:
-
Easier account reactivation with correct group access
-
Reduced administrative overhead
-
Improved auditability and historical tracking
