I recently got asked how to setup the Date Signed field in an Ordinal Date format (e.g. 16th day of July in the year 2025).

Right now, there isn’t a way to do this - I think it would require the Date Signed to be broken up into its three parts:
Day (and correct ordinal - “1st”, “2nd”, “3rd”, “th”), Month, and Year.

Is there any discussion of creating a Date Signed field that will allow this?

Hi CRod,

I’ve just submitted a similar idea as well on requesting additional Date Signed field formats including DD/MMM/YYYY and DD/MM/YYYY in addition to the standard MM/DD/YYY default. Fingers crossed this could be implemented in future releases with DocuSign.

Best,

Ian

Thank you for sharing this idea with us @CRod, We’ve reviewed your suggestion and appreciate the thought you put into it.

This request is not on our current roadmap, so we’ve marked it as parked for now

There is an option to customize date signed formats through Admin → Date Formatting → Custom, which supports RegEx and data validation. However, we believe there isn’t a RegEx pattern or validation setup that would reliably produce the specific ordinal date format you’re looking for.

Although the request is not planned at the moment, we value your input, as it helps inform future enhancements should priorities change.

Sincerely,
