Feature Request: Auto-populate Email Subject and Envelope Name with Uploaded Document Filename

I would like to submit a high-value product enhancement request regarding envelope/template creation efficiency.

Current Limitation:

Currently, when a user uploads a document (PDF/Word) into DocuSign, the Email Subject and Envelope Name default to a generic text or template name, requiring manual entry or copy-pasting of the exact filename every single time.

Proposed Enhancement:

Add an option or automated setting that dynamically populates the Email Subject / Envelope Name with the Uploaded Document's Filename (minus the file extension).

Why This is Necessary & Easy to Implement:

  1. Technical Simplicity: Reading the metadata/string of an uploaded file's name and mapping it to the Email Subject string field is a straightforward capability.

  2. High Efficiency & Time Saving: For engineering, construction (e.g., NCRs, RFIs, Submittals), legal, and compliance teams managing hundreds of documents daily, manually re-typing file names creates unnecessary friction.

  3. Seamless Document Tracking: Automatic naming ensures that email notifications and dashboard records strictly match original document numbers without manual intervention.

Thank you for considering this request for your upcoming product roadmap!
