Envelope Process Analytics

We currently have limited visibility of how long a DocuSign envelope takes to progress from creation through to completion.

I’d like to explore adding functionality to the DocuSign Reports section that allows us to analyse the journey of completed and in-progress envelopes through each stage of the process, currently we can only see total time start to finish.

The functionality would ideally allow us to see:

• The total time taken for an envelope from creation to completion.
• The time spent between each individual stage of the envelope journey.
• The users involved at each stage.
• Where an envelope is currently sitting in the process.
• Average processing times by stage and by user.
• Common points where envelopes are delayed or remain inactive for longer than expected.

The aim would be to identify recurring bottlenecks in the process. For example, if a particular stage consistently takes significantly longer than others, or if envelopes are regularly delayed when sitting with a particular user or team, we could identify this through the data and investigate the underlying cause.

This would give us a much clearer understanding of the end-to-end process and allow us to focus improvement activity on the specific stages, users or teams that are contributing to delays.

Ultimately, the objective is to reduce the overall time taken for an envelope to progress from start to finish, improve the user experience and create a more efficient document-signing process.

Potential additional functionality: The ability to filter or report this data by date range, document type, department, user and envelope status would make the analysis particularly valuable.
